Dental implants
Dental implants provide the perfect solution for missing teeth. A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically placed into the jaw, essentially replacing a lost tooth. Once your jawbone integrates with the biocompatible dental implant, a crown is attached to complete the procedure.
The placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. After the implants are placed within your jawbone, patients must wait three to six months following surgery in order for the implants to bond with the jawbone. Temporary dentures will be provided and patients must eat a soft diet during this time. During this time, your implant design and final work will improve both function and aesthetics.
The second phase begins after the implant has integrated with the jawbone. Dr. Kim will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar, and soon after, Dr. Kim will be able to begin making your new teeth.
Dental implant patients enjoy renewed freedom and self-assurance when eating, speaking, or smiling in public. In addition, replacing missing teeth will stop natural jawbone deterioration and the shifting of your bite. You'll feel better because you can eat the crunchy, healthy foods you need, as well as the chewy foods you love. Implants look so natural that only you and the doctor will know that your smile isn't all your own.
The entire procedure usually takes four to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life.
